The Laundry Fraa
The water of this fountain was considered to be particularly pure and was previously used by the Oberursel families to clean their laundry.
The water of this fountain was considered to be particularly pure and was previously used by the Oberursel families to clean their laundry. It served this purpose until the 1950s. The laundry was then dried on the nearby “bleach”. In 1979, for the 1st Oberursel Fountain Festival, the old fountain was dismantled and a new one was inaugurated with the fountain figure "The Laundry Fraa" by the Oberursel artist Georg Hieronymi.
